The Assistant Preschool is responsible to assist the lead teacher in classroom management, planning and execution of the classroom environment. This includes providing input and support in developing lesson plans, supervising academic and emotional development, maintaining open communication with the lead teacher, parents, other preschool teachers, and the preschool director.
Responsibilities
- Assist as necessary with weekly plans and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that nurtures and stimulates each child’s development.
- Assist as necessary with developing lesson plans and learning centers according to the curriculum and philosophy of the preschool that include instruction and/or experiences for all learning types.
- Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children's learning and growth.
- Assist in ongoing developmental evaluations of children as required.
- Continually communicate with parents/guardians about their child and address concerns and questions that may surface.
- Attend preschool staff meetings as scheduled.
- Participate in parent conferences to discuss children's developmental progress, needs and interests.
- Assist in providing a clean, safe classroom environment throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with Grace Fishers Preschool staff as necessary for lesson planning and sharing resources.
Work Schedule
- 10-20 hours/week (depending on when the class meets)
- August-May (according to school calendar)
- 8:30 am-1:30 pm
- Monday-Thursdays
