As we look beyond a simple reading of the events surrounding Jesus’ birth, we see there was much more than a peaceful nativity scenes and serene Hallmark cards. Despite all the awkward, scandalous, difficult - even hate-driven situations – God worked. Nothing could stop Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, and Savior, from being born so He could redeem and empower us.
