Most people picture the armor of God as a lone warrior: suited up, sword in hand, and heading into battle alone. It's an image that's been handed down for decades. And it can feel like that's how faith works: personal, private, something you carry on your own.
But Paul wrote those words to people who lived alongside Roman soldiers every single day. The power of Rome wasn't the individual soldier. It was the formation.
