Saying sorry doesn't always fix what's broken. A parent forgives, but the window still needs replacing. A friendship heals, but trust still has to be earned back one day at a time.
David knew forgiveness firsthand and what it still cost him. His confession was real. God's mercy was real. So was everything that followed in his own family, his own home, his own heart.
Consequences aren't only punishment. Sometimes they're where something new gets built.
